Goldcup Records, based in Italy, was established in 2006 by the work of two members of River Nile Band. Its main purpose is to produce riddims getting inspiration by Jamaican Roots Reggae & Dancehall tradition, revisiting it with the latest black music's tendencies.
First release, published on 2007, has been “ Babylon Is Falling ” a tune performed
by the Italian upcoming singer Ras Tewelde featuring Lutan Fyah.
On summer 2008 “ Golden Riddim ”, the second release, its a powerful new roots riddim
that made possible
the collaboration with Sizzla Kalonji and Teflon.
On April 2009, Goldcup Records presents
the definitive collection of the Golden riddim CD, published with collaboration of artists from many parts of the world,
from Europe
to Carribean Islands. 2010 start with another release for Goldcup Records, that present another mightyfull new roots riddim, “ Mirror Riddim ”, voiced by top charts artist like:
Lutan Fyah, Teflon, Bushman & Ras Ijah, Khari Kill,
Nature, Jah Nyne, Ray Darwin, Aima Moses, FredLocks & Wild Life .
On 2011 Goldcup with Kos Dillon from Phareal Int., release “ Jah Seh ”
a single with one of
the most talented Jamaican singer Khago featuring Tréson.
In the same year Goldcup Records release the awaited Jah Nyne's debut Album “ Holdin A Vibe ”,
that took a lot of attention and great reviews all over the globe. Album included some of Jah Nyne hit like : “ Hungry Pickney ” , “ Shoulder To The Wheel ”, “ How Do You Feel ” and “ Peace & Love ” feat Ras Ijah, that will become soundtrack of Rototom Sunsplash People 2012.
Goldcup’s 2012 is full of projects and releases.
The meeting with Ambassa, Italian bassman and producer based in Uk, brings a special collaboration in :“ The King’s Road Session #1 ” , first and not last release together, that featured two roots riddims : “ Ready Right Now ” and “ Splashback ” voiced by some of the most talented singers from Goldcup Records camp. In the same way, collaborating with Vibes Point, Goldcup Records release another powerfull single : ” So Precious ” that see together the rising Italian singer PieroDread and the reggae star Anthony B. Goldcup Records and Vibes Point worked together to release : “ Leave You No More ” a single by PieroDread and “ So Precious Riddim ” included artists like Ras Ijah, Jah Nyne, Raphael, Sun Sooley, Black Dillinger...
